Nigel originally hails from Nuneaton, Warwickshire moving to the Cannock Chase area when seven. At school he had lessons on the Viola whilst learning the Piano with his Mum. He was a member of the Staffordshire Youth Orchestra and the North Staffs Polytechnic Sinfonia. He studied Music at Sheffield University, graduating with honours, and subsequently trained as a teacher in Birmingham.
His teaching career brought him to the North West and he has lived in Frodsham since 1993. He is married with four children and works as a Secondary Music Teacher following a spell teaching Primary from 1993 to 2003.
He gives private Music Tuition in Piano, Jazz Piano and Theory and he is a keen organist. Until recently he was organist and choirmaster of Neston Parish Church. He has been musical director for school productions of Oliver, The Wizard of Oz, and ‘Wind in the Willows’. He still enjoys listening to orchestral and chamber music repertoire but a recently acquired taste is a love of the English Choral tradition.
